Things you should know
- Tap & hold a field makes the copy & paste dialog appear.
- Shaking the device will reset all fields to their default value.
- The numeric keypad can be flicked down with a downwards swipe of the finger.
- You can go to the next field from the keypad by swiping your finger from left to right. A swipe from right to left will take you back to the previous field.
- Double-tapping a formula label will star it (starred formulas are like favorites or bookmarks).
- When you input a value, MedCalc checks if it is plausible. If not, it is highlighted in red and the calculation is blocked, so you get a change to correct your mistake (usually a unit that is not correctly set) instead of just getting a wrong result.
- You can search for formulas by title, but also by keywords (typing 'weight' will bring up 'BMI' for instance).

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
- MedCalc used to be free, why is it now $0.99? Read this insightful blog post on why it is wrong to expect (good) software to (always) be free.
- Will you develop a version for Android, Blackberry or Windows Phone 7? We don't have any plans for new ports at the current time. We've historically only developed for the devices we use at the time and the focus is now exclusively on iOS (iPhone, iPod and iPad).
- Why can't I input negative values for temperature in the converter? MedCalc is a medical application, not a general-purpose unit converter. If you can send us a case report of a patient with a negative temperature, we'll be glad to add this feature.
- I don't find a formula that I need, can you add it? First off, make sure it's really not there. May it's listed under another name. Try using the search field, entering relevant keywords.
- Can you add a formula or score that I really need? Sure, but no promises made. Use the form below. It helps if the request is detailed and features some kind of references.
